Some photographs from my travels...

California (40 Photos)
During the summer of 2008 I spent 3 weeks working in the Paytan Biogeochemistry Lab at UCSC to learn how to perform a barite separation on my deep sea sediment samples. Mike came to visit for the last week, and we took some time to explore the area. |

Sudbury (45 Photos)
I was fortunate enough to attend the 2008 Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada Student-Industry Mineral Exploration Workshop (PDAC S-IMEW). Highlights were the slag pour at Vale Inco and going underground! I took very few of these pictures, thanks to those that did. |

Maine (35 Photos)
Two weeks of field work, performing seismic refraction and ground penetrating radar surveys on a rock glacier in the Deboullie Public Reserve Land and magnetometry and a GPR survey at an archaeological site at the junction of the Squapan and Aroostook rivers. |

Cuba (35 Photos)
Mike and I missed Christmas in Canada and rang in the New Year of 2006 in Cuba. It was a great holiday, and my first exposure to a completely different culture. We tried to explore off the tourist track as much as possible, and while it meant ham and cheese for every meal it was totally worth it. |

England (55 Photos)
Mike and I spent one week exploring London, and then another week visiting some of his relatives in Manchester. They were great and gave us the grand tour including Jodrell Bank (which I didn't have the camera for)! While in Manchester we also took a few day trips to York and Wales. |

Vancouver and Victoria (30 Photos)
I've been to Vancouver with my family, and once on my way to Victoria with two other undergrads for a week at the NRC Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics (HIA). At the HIA, I interviewed the engineers and programmers working on the Canadian contributions to the Thirty Metre Telescope for a website. |

Newfoundland (30 Photos)
In 2003, I went to Newfoundland to participate in the Shad Valley program at Memorial University. I liked it so much I returned in 2004 with my mom and brother! We were there for an amateur astronomy club conference and stayed to sightsee. I'd love to go back a third time! |

New Orleans (25 Photos)
My last high school trip was a band trip to New Orleans. A perfect choice, a city that lives and breathes music! We did a workshop to improve our own performances and took in many others. The highlight: Louis Armstrong's first cornet. Or getting up close and personal with some alligators. I'm not sure. |
